Stickmaking

Whilst the competitive Stick Show event is only on Sunday, for Saturday there’s a Stickmakers display and workshop.






You can watch Malcolm Cameron from Galloway Country Crafts shape and carve lifelike forms into stick handles, birds, dog’s heads and more traditional patterns, in wood and in horn, all on display and mostly for sale.

Guaranteed to take up at least half an hour of your time! Or if you’re an established stickmaker or just fancy at a bash at it, have a rummage amongst the horns and huge range of other materials on display for sale at the neighbouring Highland Horn Company, who sponsors Sunday’s competition.
