Show Events
Now in its sixth year the Galloway Country Fair looks to be one of the most exciting yet with trade stands, RAF flying display, Coastguard Rescue helicopter, craft stands, food halls, falconry, terrier racing, clay pigeon shooting, axe throwing, archery, stick making, medieval campsite and battle enactment, fishing demo, hound parade plus much more with main attractions all day, plus pipe bands and music by the outstanding Saor Patrol.
In addition to one of the largest static displays of
raptors ever seen in this country, Adrian and the team from Phoenix Falconry
Services Ltd will be giving members of the public the opportunity to experience
a formal falconry lesson whilst at the fair!
Each lesson lasts 45 minutes and you'll be guided by
expert instructors through the safe basic handling of one of the birds after
which a full lesson will be given, guiding you through the fundemental thoery
of how a falconry bird is trained. This experience culminates in the unrivalled
spectacle of having a free flying hawk return to your fist!
Lessons can be booked at the phoenix falconry stand
throughout the weekend.
